Hi, I’m LaToiya, the cook, maker, memory-keeper, and slightly flour-dusted hostess behind Swanson Life A to Z.
Around here, you’ll find homemade recipes, creative projects, family traditions, practical ideas for home and everyday life, and plenty of celebrating the seasons in between.
Nothing here is about having the perfect house, the perfect dinner, or a perfectly organized life.
Around our table, hospitality comes before perfection.
Sometimes dinner is homemade bread and something that simmered all afternoon. Sometimes it’s whatever I managed to pull together while everybody was asking me a question at the same time.
Both count. 💜
From Life with Z to Swanson Life A to Z
If you’ve been around for a long time, you may remember this little corner of the internet by another name: Life with Z.
That name fit the season we were in then. The blog began as a place to share pieces of everyday family life, motherhood, things we were trying, things I was making, and whatever else happened to be going on around us.
And then life did what life tends to do.
It changed.
Our family grew and changed. The kids got older. Interests changed. Routines shifted. There were seasons when I posted regularly and seasons when this little blog got very quiet because real life needed my attention more.
In other words, things got a little chaotic around here. 😂
I could pretend there was some grand editorial strategy behind every break, but there wasn’t.
Sometimes family life simply came first.
And that history is part of this place, too.
Why Swanson Life A to Z?
Eventually, Life with Z no longer felt big enough for everything this space had become.
Swanson Life A to Z gives us room for the whole story.
The A to Z is a little nod to our family, but it also fits what this site has grown into: all those pieces of everyday life that happen between one end of the alphabet and the other.
Here, that means:
Cooking • Creating • Celebrating Life’s Ups, Downs & All-Arounds.
What You’ll Find at the Table
The heart of Swanson Life A to Z is pretty simple:
Useful things shared with a little warmth.
You’ll find recipes worth making again, homemaking ideas that work in actual homes, DIYs and crafts you can reasonably finish, family traditions, seasonal inspiration, celebrations, and everyday ideas that make life a little easier or a little more special.
Some things will be beautifully homemade.
Some will involve a shortcut.
I am equally comfortable with both. 😉
Because the goal isn’t to impress anybody.
It’s to make something good, learn something useful, gather the people we love, and enjoy the life happening around us while we’re doing it.
There’s Always Room at Our Table
